LITTLE ROCK, ARK – A new film festival is promoting homegrown talent by featuring films made right here in the Natural State. Festival organizers are encouraging filmmakers from across Arkansas to submit their films to be screened for audiences at the Central Arkansas Library System’s Ron Robinson Theater in Little Rock from May 16 – 18, 2019.

Tony Taylor, one of the event’s organizers, says that the focus of the festival is to shine a light on Arkansas’s growing film scene. Says Taylor, “There are a lot of incredibly talented people working hard to make great films right here in Arkansas. We’re excited for a wide range of filmmakers from all corners of the state to come and showcase their work. And we are grateful to CALS Ron Robinson Theater for their continued support of the filmmaking community. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate the quality and diversity of Arkansas films than to give filmmakers the chance to screen their work in this beautiful space.”

Organizers say that films across a variety of genres will be accepted, and can be either short or feature-length. At least 75% of the film must have been shot within the state of Arkansas.

Submissions must be made online through FilmFreeway, the world’s #1 submission platform. Awards will be given in the categories of Audience Award – Best Short Film; Audience Award – Best Student Film; and Audience Award – Best Overall Arkansas Film. The link to submit entries can be found, along with more information about entry rules and requirements, at the festival’s FilmFreeway site, here.
